Raja Mantri Chor Sipahi is the chit game every Indian kid knows, but four chits don't go far at a family function. This is the big group version, for 5 to 15 players. You still pick a folded chit, the Raja and Mantri still show themselves, and the Mantri still has to point at the Chor. There are just more people to hide behind.
Bigger tables add Rani, Kotwal, Senapati, Pandit and extra Sipahis. From 8 players there's a Jasoos who secretly peeks at one chit and can help the Mantri, or send them the wrong way. From 10 players there's a second thief, the Daaku, and a second Mantri to catch them. A round takes a couple of minutes, so play several.
Kya chahiye: Just phones. The app deals the chits and counts the points.
Rules: kaise khelte hain
Pick a chit
Everyone has 15 seconds to tap one of the face-down chits. Anyone who doesn't pick gets a leftover chit. The app makes sure the key roles (Raja, the Mantris, Chor and Daaku) always land with a player, never on an unused chit.
Which roles are in play
The table grows with the group:
- 5 players: Raja, Mantri, Senapati, Sipahi, Chor.
- 6: adds Rani.
- 7: adds Kotwal.
- 8: adds Jasoos.
- 9: adds Pandit.
- 10: a second Mantri and a Daaku come in, and the Pandit drops out.
- 11: the Pandit is back.
- 12 to 15: one more Sipahi for each extra player.
Reveal and the Jasoos peek
For 12 seconds you see your own role. Everyone sees who the Raja and Mantri are, and at 10+ which Mantri hunts the Chor and which hunts the Daaku.
The Jasoos quietly taps one player (not the Raja, a Mantri or themselves) and sees their role. Nobody else knows who was peeked at, not even that player. The Chor and the Daaku don't know each other either.
The Mantri names a thief
The Mantri gets 45 seconds to name one suspect, once. At 10+, Mantri 1 hunts the Chor and Mantri 2 hunts the Daaku. A Mantri can't name the Raja, a Mantri or themselves. If Mantri 1 names the Daaku, that's a miss: they were hunting the Chor.
While the Mantri thinks, everyone else can post short bluff lines of up to 40 characters, like "Main toh Pandit hoon, pooja karta hoon". The Jasoos can help on voice, or mislead.
Result
Everyone's role, both hunts and all points are shown. Each hunt is settled on its own, so one Mantri can succeed while the other misses.
Points kaise milte hain
Role points: Raja 1000, Rani 900, each Mantri 800, Kotwal 700, Senapati 600, Sipahi 500, Jasoos 400, Pandit 300, Chor and Daaku 0. If a Mantri catches their thief, the thief stays at 0 and the Mantri keeps 800. If the Mantri names the wrong person or runs out of time, the Mantri gets 0 and the thief gets 800. The Jasoos gets 200 extra if the Mantri they helped makes the catch: that is the Mantri hunting the thief they peeked at, otherwise Mantri 1. Everyone else keeps their role points either way. Points only, with no money, and scores carry across rounds in the room.
Jeetne ke tips
- Mantri: watch the bluff lines. The loudest "main toh Sipahi hoon" is worth a second look.
- Chor: post a calm bluff line. Staying silent looks guilty too.
- Jasoos: if you peeked at the thief, help your Mantri. If not, you can still stir things up.
- At 10+, Mantris: make sure you name your own thief, not the other one.
Ghar wale rules aur variants
For 4 to 8 players with the classic roles, pick Raja Mantri Chor Sipahi instead.
At home you fold chits and someone keeps score on paper. Mandli deals the chits and keeps score, and it is points only, never money.
Chor Sipahi, bada group online kaise khelein
Make a room, pick Chor Sipahi, bada group, and share the link on WhatsApp or show the QR code to people in the same room. Friends without the app join from the browser link with no login. In Saath mode the whole family sits together and the Mantri stares everyone down. In Door mode, the voice chat inside the game has mic and speaker buttons, and nothing is recorded. If the Raja leaves after the reveal, the round keeps going. If a Mantri or thief leaves, only their hunt is void. Seats are held when the internet drops. It's free with no ads.
