Every group has that one friend whose "bas paanch minute" means forty. Roast Battle gives the whole mandli a chance to say so, nicely. Each round the app picks one friend as the target and gives a half-finished line about a habit, like "Rohan ke 'bas paanch minute' ka asli matlab hai...". Everyone else finishes it in their own words.
Lines are shown without names, the target gets to forgive one, and everyone votes for the line that landed best. Authors are revealed only at the end. It's a roast game for friends about habits: being late, phone addiction, sleeping through alarms. Never looks, family, caste, religion or money. Rounds are quick, about three minutes, and everyone gets a turn in the hot seat before anyone goes twice. For ages 13 and up.
Kya chahiye: Just phones and friends who can take a joke.
Rules: kaise khelte hain
Aaj ka shikaar
The app picks the target and a template about a habit, from topics like late, khana, phone, padhai, dressing, cricket, gaana and neend. Everyone who hasn't been roasted in this room goes before anyone repeats. The target and the line show for 5 seconds.
Write your line
Everyone except the target has 60 seconds to finish the line in up to 80 characters. You can edit until you tap Done. The target only sees how many lines are in, never the text.
Every line is checked against a block-list of abuse and slurs. A blocked line is refused with "Yeh line nahi chalegi". The rule is simple: pyaar se roast karo.
Maaf kiya
Next, the target sees all the lines, shuffled and without names, and has 15 seconds to forgive one line with "Maaf kiya", which knocks it out, or tap Sab theek to let them all stand.
Vote
Everyone, the target included, has 20 seconds to vote for one line. You can't vote for your own, or for a line that was forgiven or hidden. Vote counts stay hidden until the result, which shows authors, votes and points.
If fewer than 2 lines are left to vote on, the round skips the vote and ends with no points. If nobody writes anything, the app declares "Aaj sab shareef hain".
Safety controls
- The host can hide any line at any time after writing. Its text is gone for good, even from the result screen.
- Anyone can report a line. Two reports, or one from the target, hide it automatically.
- Lines live only in the round and are gone when the room closes.
- A result card can be shared only if the target allows it, and only with lines that weren't hidden or forgiven.
- If the target leaves, the round is void with no points.
Points kaise milte hain
Each vote your line gets is 10 points. The line with the most votes gets a 10-point "Aag laga di" bonus; tied lines each get it, and a line with 0 votes never does. Writing a line that nobody hid or forgave earns 2. If the target forgives nothing, they get 10 for "Dil bada hai". A forgiven or hidden line scores 0, and its votes don't count. Scores carry across games in the room.
Jeetne ke tips
- Roast the habit, not the person. The best lines are the ones the target laughs at first.
- Specific beats mean. A line about their exact excuse lands harder than a general insult.
- Target: forgive nothing if you can take it. Dil bada hai is worth 10.
- Keep it short. The 80 characters are a limit, not a target.

Sawaal jawaab
How do you play a roast game with friends?
In Roast Battle, the app picks one friend and a half-finished line about a habit. Everyone else completes it anonymously, the target can forgive one line, and then the whole group votes for the best.
Is Roast Battle safe to play with a group?
It's built for friendly roasts about habits only. Lines go through a block-list, the host can hide any line, reports can hide a line, and the target can forgive one. It is for ages 13 and up.
Does anyone see who wrote each roast line?
Not until the result. During the forgiving and the vote, lines are shuffled with no names.
What are some good roast topics for friends?
Habits everyone recognises: always late, always on the phone, sleeping through alarms, the same dress to every party, cricket commentary nobody asked for. Leave out looks, family, caste, religion and money.
